Volunteers will see new set-ups at 26th annual seedling sale

 By Fay Sallee

Linn County Small Woodlands Assoc.

Thank you for volunteering to help with the Linn County Small Woodlands Seedling Sale, last year (2020). I hope you are able to help this year 2021. I have sent last year’s work schedule(s) in case you worked both days as attachments. You can look it over and let me know if you want to stay with the same schedule that you had last year. Or let me know if you would like to do something different this year. If you want more information about the different jobs let me know and I can send the information as an attachment.

General Information for 2021 Seedling Sale

Linn County Fair grounds in the Santiam Building in Albany
Friday, February 5, 2021 Filling Pre-Orders Set up: 8- 11:30am Fill Orders 12-5pm or until done
Saturday, February 6, 2021 Orientation 7:30am for those helping with the sale.
Doors open to the public 8am to noon.
Pre-Order Pick-ups 8am to 11am.

This year we will follow special instructions and set up for our seedling sale due to the Covid19 virus. First we ask that you come healthy and wear a mask.

Friday, Pre-Orders fill day.

Since the Local Woods Fair is off we will be able to spread out in the whole Santiam building. I will have a new layout.
 All tables will be 6 feet apart allowing for social distancing when working at a table.
 The pre – order area will be moved to the north side of the building allowing access to customers coming to pick up pre-orders from the parking lot outside of the Santiam building.
 We will still be following our quality control procedures for the pre-orders by working together in-groups as we have done in the past. My question to you is do you prefer to work with your family or do you feel comfortable working with a 4-H or LCSW member outside of your family? Please let me know and I will assign your jobs accordingly.

Saturday, Seedling Sale day
Everyone comes at the same time for an orientation at 7:30am. If you cannot make it that early please let me know.
 We will still have the seedling tables 6 feet apart.
 The plan is for the Pre- order customers to be serviced from the backside (North) of the building.
 Drop in customers will still come through the front doors. We will need a greeter to help them get started and know what seedlings are still available.
 We will have a sample table area where the Pre-order area used to be. This should give more social distancing for the person helping with that area.
 We will have a safe area for the cashiers and a place where people can ask questions.
 We plan to still have someone behind the seedling tables handling out the seedlings to the customers using gloves.
 We will need runners to carry out pre-orders to the customers when they arrive.

Hopefully everything will run smoothly and everyone will feel safe doing their job. This year it is especially important that you let me know if you are able to help. We plan on starting with set up in the morning 8 to 11:30am; and start with filling pre-orders in the afternoon at noon until we get done. If you can come all day (8am until we get done) that works for me too. This year as we are limited to the number of people we can have in the building at one time so please let me know what time you are coming and how long you can stay to help. I plan to have the work schedules filled out and sent back to you by January 28.
